Another option that might be cheaper/easier would be to get a universal sender in the right resistance range for your gauge, add it to the new tank, and ignore the one with the wrong range.
I do see a lot of fairly cheap options for this...but none are a pump/sender combo so I assume that I'd need to cut a new hole in my tank which I'm not a fan of
