The Stovebolt Site Forums The Parking Lot Tons 'o Fun Do I need a BFH to remove this cap?

In the process of removing the trans, I bought the new spring and cap for the shifter base on top of the Muncie SM 420 . I somewhat remember someone telling me to push down and rotate 1/16 th of a turn on the “cap” or the shifter rod or? Brain fade seems like it is coming around more often! Thanks
