Hello all. Sfizio here, aka Thomas.

I have a '56 3100 Task Force. A California car, mostly original, 235, four speed, minimal surface rust but a quick sale paint job. Red leather interior, nicely done. Someone added electronic ignition.

I've had it for a few years. Runs well. Immediately added new tires, oil change, brakes done, rebuilt steering box because I had a lot of play in the steering.

It lives on the mean streets of Brooklyn, NY, right outside the second floor window of my apartment so I change my oil by driving one tire up on the sidewalk.

I've paid mechanics for work done so far, already spent too much with labor rates at about $150 per hour in this part of the country.

I had power steering installed because it's impossible to parallel park in NYC without it. Time, tools and experience are the the three things that always kept me form doing my own work but now that I'm retired, I'd like to work more on it myself.

I think I have a transmission leak and need to check the fluid level. Still trying to figure out how to do that, which brought me here. Want to change to stiffer shocks. I frequently bottom out on the bumpy BQE. I'm good with electrical and body work. Planning to clean up the rust spot a bit and clear coat, leaving a patina look. Want to refinish the wood in the bed.

Happy to have found Stovebolt. I'm going to need it. Thanks for reading.
