For those who attend, you know its an eclectic mix of trucks from 1930 to the present. Trucks that have been lifted to the sky; trucks that have been slammed to the ground- and everything in between. But mixed in there are enough Stovebolt worthy trucks to make for a fun day. Like Art-Deco ‘46 Chevy trucks? There were at least 3 for sale in the swap meet section. Perhaps the most intriguing was a ‘46 2.5 ton dump truck from South Dakota. No rust to be found; decent paint; nice interior. The original 216.5 replaced with a 235 (or was it a 261?). Yes, it has 6 split rims with dry rotted 17.5 inch tires. The seller said he has 2 new tires for the front, and a tire shop brave enough to change them. All of this was yours for $6000. My wife had to drag me away!
The ‘46 chevy pickup at $3500 was a very rusty project, but the seller had a very solid ‘46 cab with doors at $2000. The very nice ‘34 pickup was priced at $25,000 despite its seized motor.
If you like trucks, its an entertaining day in the Carlisle sun.
