Hi All,
I just bought (another) truck. Hope to have it hauled soon. All I've seen is pictures, but it looks great.
Assuming on inspection the cab and front clip appear low rust for a 1954, I am wondering about blasting.
I know of one area of rust through on floor, appears like surface rust elsewhere. "Appears" haha.
I am not sure how much I might try to do myself, versus paying for prof. work. I am concerned about
warping metal from excess heat from sand. Will walnut shells, or any commercial media, actually work
with a lower risk of warping a good truck? Use liquid to remove rust?
I am sure this has been discussed, but what should I use to prevent flash rust while I try to do body
work? Again, some I may be able to do, some perhaps not.
If someone wants to just let me know where this all has been answered before, I will enjoy reading
everything! Thanks for all the help guys. P.S., GMC 54 350-27, 5Win. Thanks. Mike.
