Didn't know what category to put this in, so I will start it here in the General Truck Talk - I have a 1949 Chevy cab which I am trying to find a place to put in the garage. It has doors with it but are currently off the cab. I was considering doing the following and would like any comments about being a good or bad idea. Back in one corner of the garage, I was thinking about attaching high up on the wall two pieces of 2" square tubing just wide enough apart to fit in the door opening at the top and slide the cab onto them so it would basically be suspended from them. The other ends of the steel tube would also be supported of course once the cab has been put in place. This would still allow space below the cab for additional storage. I guess my concern is, how good is this method for the cab body to be suspended. The cab is in excellent condition with no weak spots from rust, but I worry about it hanging there for a long period of time and hope the body does not distort. Any comments are appreciated. Thanks!
