I think all spindles use bushings. And I think they are straight reamed not taper reamed. Check out the king pin tech tips on this site. Do you have a shop manual for your truck? If not check out
http://chevy.tocmp.com and see if Keith has one posted. I know he has the 29-54 Chevy Master Parts Catalog on-line. I think you will find the same king pins were used for 3/4 thru 1 1/2 ton for about 20 years. Good luck
