Dave's adapter plate allows the 216 and early 235 water pump to be used on the later model engines (1955-62) and position the fan correctly. The mid-year change of body styles in the 1955 trucks, and a similar shape change in the 55-up passenger car front end sheet metal required a relocation of the water pump. Jerry
