Unless you're driving into the sun, it blocks a lot of light (as in you don't need to wear sunglasses). And there is plenty of gap between the rear of the visor and the body of the truck, so there is no issue of it catching air. I would venture to say the center mounts, (that clamp to the divider bar), are a must to keep it stable. I would hope the repro's would come with those.
Leo is correct on both though. You will have lean over to look up, if your first at the light. And for sure paint the underside in a flat.
