You have asked this question in a number of previous posts (

Much information was previously provided to help identify your "230" engine. If you go back and look at the replies in there, the only definite info that could be provided (based on the casting#) is that it is a 230 made between 1963-1970. The date casting code "E2769" would likely indicate manufactured May 27 1969, but that can't be confirmed as the casting also indicates it was "Hecho En Mexico" (Made in Mexico) and I can't confirm any info on blocks cast in Mexico. Others have mentioned the fact that they were unaware these engines where being manufactured in Mexico during that time period. Perhaps it's a replacement block???
The engine serial number prefix "CL" is not listed in any GM Heritage data that I could determine, so no help in confirming. FWIW, the HEI distributor was probably used to replace an original points style distributor at some point by a previous owner, so that is also no more help in identifying your engine.
Bottom line is if you are needing to get the engine rebuilt, based on previous discussions, you need to take it to a qualified engine shop that can properly measure it and help you get the parts you need for the rebuild. Good luck on your build.
