A good all-around gun (and fairly inexpensive) is 3M's Accuspray that comes in a kit with an assortment of tips all the way from 1.2 - 2.0. The PPS (Paint Preparation System) paint cup supplies are a little spendy, but for the hobbiest, the cleanup is a snap, and replacement tips aren't that much money if you don't get them completely clean. But that takes only a few ounces of solvent sprayed thru the nozzle, so no gun washer is needed. Everything in contact with the paint except the needle is disposable, and that's easy to keep clean. I bought their gun that takes the original PPS cups, but you could also buy their 2.0 system which is more common now. A bit less than $300 for all you need to get started.
