I spent enough time looking at things.. Both sides are made for locks.. Only difference are the parts under the plate. I haven't removed that plate yet but going to soon.. Then I will know for sure.. Did you add a lock on the driver's side? I am in body work, and now is the time to make the hole for the lock cylinder if indeed all I need is the hole and the lock assembly.
