TropicAire produced car and plug-in electric heaters back in the 30's-50's (maybe later). A web search comes up with lots of varieties of TropicAire heaters.
There were no factory installed heaters, so a number of manufacturers filled the need, including Harrison, the main supplier of heaters for our trucks.
