Also, if you add a keep alive circuit, make sure it is not connected back into the main circuit or you can backdraw through it when the switch is off.
Good advice. That would be a sure way to smoke a circuit the first time you forget to thru the main switch on before hitting the starter. If there's not a separate connection to your radio that needs constant power, a diode in the normal power circuit to the radio could be installed.
