Fuel hose would be fine, given the small size needed. The thickness to diameter ratio would be large enough to resist crushing. In larger sizes, like 5/16 or 3/8 inches, I would agree not to use fuel hose for vacuum service.

Per this, even 1/2" hose is rated for 24" HG vacuum.
SAE 30R9 fuel hose is available about anywhere. I didn't find a vacuum rating for the possibly more common SAE 30R7 fuel hose.
