AS I understand it, you have a separate power supply that will give you 12 volts from a six volt source. Normally one would connect the power supply to the ignition switch and it becomes a switched source. You don't want to leave the power supply connected to a live non switched source of six volts because it will draw current whether the radio is turned on or not. There is no solution in this case for the memory connection.
