I won't totally knock bias ply tires. I drove with bias plies on my '56 Cadillac for the first 7-10 years I owned it. I found them to be comfortable and decent handling due to the stiff sidewall. I regularly drove thousands of miles at modern highway speeds with them. Of course the Cadillac weighs 5000 pounds verses a truck like yours that weighs a little over 3000 lbs. I think that has a lot to do with how well the car stuck to the road.

When I switched to radials, however, it was a night and day difference. The car never rode and handled so well as it does with the Diamondback radials I installed. If you're going to be doing a lot of "high speed" driving, I strongly recommend installing them. They are made to look like bias ply tires but have all the advantages of radials.

Both my Cadillac and Packard have them. They are far superior to those offered by Coker Tire.

If you want a wide whitewall, these tires look great and don't have that fat radial tire bulge that looks ridiculous on 70 year old vehicles.
