My '48 two ton does not have a hoist. Would it be difficult to ad a hoist? What do they consist of, a pto off the tranny and a hydraulic pump and cylinder/cylinders? Keep in mind I am a real newbie, as newbie as it comes. I just love old trucks and I couldn't resist. By the way my truck has already given me a lot of enjoyment. Even though I found out it has no wipers!!!! The story on that one: the pervious owner told me to merely hook up the line that was coming out of the firewall. Turned out to be the drain hose for the cowl vent. Too funny to worry about. I have a line on a wiper motor and linkage already. The previous owner said somewhere down the road it was covereted to an electric wiper over the driver's window. You can see where it was installed and there is a motor on the firewall that I am guessing doesn't do anything now.
