I was having issues with the truck dying and not starting last fall. So recently I performed Hotrod's 3 part fuel pump test. I have the double pump (fuel and vacuum). It passed the first 2 tests but it failed the vacuum test. The vacuum gauge was ready wildly erratically. So I found a modern 6 cylinder pump that was on a 228 I had in the barn. Probably a Napa basic 6 cylinder pump. Put it on. Did Hotrod's test on that. Fuel delivery was fine. Fuel pressure was fine. But the vacuum test was reading 20-25 inches. That normal? Hotrod's article referenced 10 inches.
