Coilover, another great idea! Texas A&M, thnx for the offer, but I do have the remnants of the old one. The park brake spring extender from my truck was 11", while the regular brake spring extender was 8 3/4". So they definitely are different! As mentioned above, I'm going with my last iteration of the extender for the time being. If it doesn't work or last, I'll come back to these ideas and try again. Thanks everyone!
