On the safety catch hook, the spring has to be installed so that the hook is pushed toward the back of the hood. Originally the pin holding the safety catch went thru two tabs bent downward on the hood latch panel, but the repop ones are bolt-on, complete with spring. You have to remove the bent tabs to install them.
