I should have this truck on my property in a couple of weeks. I almost forgot that I had a stovebolt back in the early 70's when I owned a 1965 long bed. It had a 6 cylinder, and three on the tree. I bought it for $250 dollars from a gas station. They used it for a parts hauling truck and there wasn't a panel on it that didn't have a dent. The gas station was a Citgo, from Liberty, New York where my uncle the veternarian was living. I sold the truck to a buddy after about four years for $150. I did a valve job, which included milling the head for $28 back then. I also replaced the first / reverse gear. Had a bit of trouble because the guys at the station put in a station wagon tranny. The inside gears were cut a a slightly different angle. So when I tried putting the replacement gear on, it would start onto the cluster gear, but would lock up. Got the right one on the trip back to the parts store.
