| | | | Joined: Mar 2010 Posts: 10,275 Renaissance Man | | Renaissance Man Joined: Mar 2010 Posts: 10,275 | The cup grease which was called for these grease caps was more wax-like (thicker if you will) than bearing grease. This is an important trait for this application since thinner grease can leak out around the cup seal as you tighten it.
I am not suggesting that bearing grease won't work, I am just passing on a little Cup Grease history.
