I have an engine like that in my truck
The serial is stamped at those two locations
One is distributor area as normal
And
The other is on the flat surface under the pushrod cover above the fuel pump area
That second location is hidden and confidential, the push rod cover gasket covers that serial location
It was not super common but does happen
