Let's just say I had my suspicions. She thinks she wants a red one, but we are going to look at it next to the dash (the only painted part so far) and see if the red would clash with it too badly.
The lock seems pretty good. It is comparable to the one on my big toolbox. The top doesn't have any play in it when it is latched, so prying it open would actually be pretty tough.
