I would think in CA you could pick from a big litter, so to speak. Us eastcoasters are very envious of the opportunity that comes from the west coast. Yes, if you buy a piece of sheetmetal that needs work and you have to hire that work out, you will be left with a fender that is 2x the cost of the aftermarket stuff. Aftermarket stuff works, but it is what it is - overseas. Choice you have to make.
For me, I like to use the old stuff if I can find it and pay the difference making repairs/getting repairs.
