I am going through the same conversation with friends of mine. I don't want to use them, but to get the most out of my engine I probably should. Realistically using my engine to its ability will happen a few times a year.
So I have found ram horns with 2.5" exit, all weird mounting tabs are removed, etc, for less than $200. They look the part, I will coat them with the stove polish so they don't rust, and then do a 2.5 inch exhaust. I will loose 50-70 hp on the high end, but the tires will already be spinning at that point so who cares.
