Personally I would gut the inside of the cab and see how bad the rust is before removing the front clip.
There are rear cab inner and outer panels. If water migrated there, you may have internal rust especially around the rear window.
Weigh labor and parts cost towards doing a used cab swap. Cab swap? Panel truck?
