Thomas lb Your truck sounds like my 51 216 3600,it had a rod shim job plus rings in 82,is still OK at 10 psi oil pressure at idle. No chance It will ever hit 70 mph,too much to ask from a safety standpoint. Otto is right if you want to run 70 mph get a tool made to do that safely modern equipment,keep the 50 on the blacktop.
