The C10 frame should be 42" wide at the frame, but the K10 (4WD) frame is 34" wide at the rear. Front widths are the same for C10 and K10. The vehicle info kit doesn't say there's a difference between stepside and fleetside.
Could be that they share the same bumper, but need different brackets (maybe you got ones for a K10?)
