Guys I posted about a year ago on bent push rods. Went on parts wanted and posted question and engine head casting # Mike B. Id the engine and head as 35-36 207.
Helping a 90 year old friend get this truck running. Had it running last fall after three starts with truck moving under it own power, 4th day started and died.
saw the side cover moving in and out.
Pulled the head and side cover found some bent push rods, I can hardly push valves down with a screw driver.
The owner had the head rebuilt some years ago, I think the springs they used are way to heavy.
I would like to clean up the head replace springs back to stock and salvage straighten push rods may need some replacement as well.
I will have to go back to where truck is to get serial # off engine may be some time till that happens.
Pulled fuel tank out and having it cleaned and sealed so will have fresh gas when time comes for restarting.
Best place to get gasket set? In the past I have used Olson. Thanks for any info
