Just took possession of a 65 c10 not long ago, I am working on a few safety repairs before I start driving it around, one being non functioning blinkers.

The previous owner told me they suddenly stopped working at some point. The wiring harness is new in the truck. After looking it over the only issue I could see was the wires for the front blinkers were crushed/frayed due to the hood rusting out and resting on the wires. Would something like this cause the whole blinker system not to work? It is wired to a signal stat (another thing I noticed was the wire to the indicator light on the blinker switch had dry rot and broke) none of the blinkers are working but I can see that the back and front are wired, I checked the fuses too and they are good. Im trying to determine if fixing the front blinkers is the solution or if there is more to the problem.
