I was about three days too late on a running '47 Chevy one-ton in Kansas. The people who had the truck set it up as a water tanker and discovered they needed more truck for the tank. So, the tank came off and the truck was for sale. While in central Kansas this weekend, I asked my friends' Dad if there were any old Chevy or Dodge trucks around for sale, preferably pre-'80 and cheap. He told me about the '47 & who had it, so, we went to where it had been parked for the past several months...gone. It was for sale for $500, from what he said. Running, complete cab and chassis, just add a bed!
Oh, well. There's more out there.
