Wally Montana Remember those funnels with a fine brass screen ?? When I wasyoung on the farm those would catch water in that screen,enough water would block it and gasoline would stand above it.
I have one of those and used it recently. It has a sticker on it that warns that additives (ethanol?) can let water pass thru the screen.
