Redbird, as I answered in your other thread, the engine number suffix T54Z the engine is a passenger car 235 originally mated to standard transmission.
The T shows the engine was manufactured in the Tonawanda, NY plant. 54 is the model year of the car in which the engine was originally installed. The Z designates a passenger car "Blue Flame" 235, originally mated to a standard transmission and rated at 115HP. That engine would have a solid lifter camshaft, and the block will not have been drilled at the factory for the oil gallery needed to run hydraulic lifters. It's a good engine. I have a similar F54Z in my '53 (only difference being it was manufactured in the Flint, MI plant).
