Just my 2 cents, our 97 chevy 3500 HD has the 4l80 auto in it the truck weighs in at 12500 lbs empty and have towed a 3/4 ton pick with 5th wheel attached for thirty miles and several other jobs that are over the limit of the truck and the trans holds up well I think . Its got 220,000 on the odom and its only on its second trans first went at 160,000 change the fluid twice a year and go with the additional tranny cooler outside of radiator
