The first Colorado's had drum brakes which made E-brake hookup easier. Since axle flanges need re-drilled anyway we now use Explorer rears with the rotor also being the brake drum and a conventional E-brake layout. The Explorer width is 59" vs 61" for the AD so STEEL spacer or wheel with correct offset is needed. The aluminum spacers need re-torqued periodically. Both have ratios from the 2's to the 4's available with 3.73 being the most common and is the automatic overdrive unit.
