atomarc 'Bolter A Joined: Jul 2004 Posts: 5,708 Eureka, CA	Scott, I think the SOP is to remove the radiator cap and insert a household meat thermometer in the coolant...the water temp in the top tank should be a true example of system temp. Surface reflectivity can sometimes fool the infrared! Stuart
