Sedans in '53 with PG was the first year for full pressure 235s. All 54-62 235s were full pressure, at least in sedans. The casting date sounds right for a '54 FP 235, but you'd have to get the block casting # to tell for sure. The casting number is on the pass side of the block near the road draft tube.

But I suggest finding a 55-62 2nd series 235, as they are a little more modern and don't require shimstock to set main bearing clearance like late 53-55 1st series FP 235 engines do.
