Seems to me that if you put the Prius setup in a 2-ton loaded dump truck and you hit a curb funny while holding onto a 20" steering wheel, something is going to give. The larger the trucks are the bigger the steering setup is, so something designed for a 3000 pound car might turn into a pretzel if installed in a 16000 pound truck.
