I have opened up every switch there is. Headlight, ignition, heater, dimmer, wiper, dome, turn signal, fuel sender rheostat......hardest part is getting it open without damaging the tabs/crimps/swages, the phenolic base or losing a little springy dingy or copper thingy.
Whether that's "worth it" or not is up to the individual. I enjoy refurbishing them.
