Okay so after my cooling system problems were fixed over he last few days/week, I decided to take out the 56 truck for a fun day of garage sale hunting. It was fine all day until late evening when it lost power a bit and started to miss and bog down. I knew something was up and drove it home slow and steady as to not make anything worse. i pulled the valve cover after it cooled off and sure enough the #3 intake rocker split into two pieces and the adjustment side was in the bottom of the cylinder head. NICE!. The pushrod is bent slightly as well. Any ideas why??
Only can think it was valve lash out of adjustment and or old parts? More importantly, anyone know where to get a new one??? thanks, kyle
