For helping keep this great

on the Internet for over 30 years! and not clogged down with Ads! Again, thanks! | | | | Joined: May 2001 Posts: 1,907 'Bolter | | 'Bolter Joined: May 2001 Posts: 1,907 | For the 1st time in 28 years or so, I left my '48 sit outside for much of Fall and Winter. I'm getting things going again but there is very little braking. The pedal feels fine but when stomped very hard, it doesn't screech to a stop like it would before. It glides to a stop.
The master cylinder was new last year. It's cold and snowy enough that I don't want to do a complete brake job outside now but I would like a hint of what's wrong so I can dream of fixing it.
Can an MC freeze up with 5 months sitting? Or maybe 3 out of 4 wheel cylinders freeze up? I should have gone outd and worked the brake pedal every so often.
Thanks! 1948 3/4-Ton 5-Window Flatbed Chevrolet 34 Years. Now with a '61 261, 848 head, Rochester Monojet carb, SM420 4-speed, 4.10 rear, dual reservoir MC, Bendix up front, 235/85R16 tires, 12-volt w/alternator, electric wipers and a modern radio in the glove box.
