I just pulled the 6 cylinder engine out of my original 1941 GMC Cabover AFKX 352 4X4 van. The plates on the engine and firewall state that the engine is serial number #24820475.
My original GMC AFKX repair manual shows the same (correct) engine and states it could be a 228, 248, 256 or 270, Six cylinder.
Q: Can anyone look it up for me and confirm which engine it is by its serial number? I assuem it is a 270 but do not know for sure.
It also has a water cooler for the oil on front of the water inlet.
