With all the suspension work of late I'm starting to feel the need for speed. There's a (supposedly) good 261 taking up space in the shop. My little engine stand pictured below has had many small blocks bolted up. It's up to the task when care is taken. One time long ago I had a 1966 Ford 390 on it, that was too much. No wrecks but it could have happened a time or two.
So the above said, I'm thinking extend the almost 3' horizontal a foot, pull the swivel caster off the front and add a 4' T section with two swivel casters. I've got a couple of trailer slack adjusters that can be used as a gear drive to rotate the engine. That could (needs to) happen.
So, as someone is prone to saying, am I trying to make a silk purse out of a sows ear?
The number I've got in mind for a complete 261 is mid to high 600's. About 100 lbs more than the 390 mentioned above.
