I am probably within 6 weeks of pulling my motor and trans. I am going to figure out a makeshift stand so I can run and iron out all issues.
I have no known leaks, but the whole engine is coated with a thick layer of crud.
I am planning on the following:
I know I have to go through carb again because it won't run without considerable throttle and it acts super lean.
Water pump. Preventative
Plugs and wires. They look original
Cap/rotor. Have not opened cap to see if it has been converted to electronic ignition.
Pan and valve cover gaskets
I really want to buy a FI system for it. See how the budget is going. Any suggestions?
Clean and paint to original colors.
Put all back together and get it running well before reinstallation.
What else do I do to this thing while it is out?
