If so, it's best to learn to live with the high pedal. Unless you're willing to adjust the brakes about once a month, there will be times you'll be glad to have all the pedal stroke possible available to you. Even a little brake lining wear will result in the pedal going very close to the floor before there's much stopping effect.
Also, a 49 will have Huck brakes, which are a real pain in the posterior to adjust. Jerry
