I have aquired a set of NOS pistons for my 270 GMC rebuild and they are all coated with what I think is called "cosmolene". It is sort of a wax based protectant that each piston has been dipped in to preserve it. Anybody got a reall good method for removing this stuff? Someone had partially cleaned one of the pistons and I finished it up with some Naptha and a tooth brush. It took quite a while to get it clean. There must be something else I can use. What say you????
