| | | | Joined: Jan 2005 Posts: 95 Member | | Member Joined: Jan 2005 Posts: 95 | The 292 develops torque at about 1500rpm but the 283 at about 3000. Sure the 283 has more hp because of higher rpm. My 292 is a much stronger engine for pulling a heavy load or trailering than the 283 I had. The big difference is top speed which is a difference of about 15 mph. I'm not interested in going over a hundred any way. Jim | | |
