Protocol shop ... yuck. I've had to deal with a lot of folks, including Leadership who should know better, mistaking PAO for Protocol. I found innovative ways of informing them that I was not a doily folder or Male Escort. Glad he's back where we really need him -- In his MOS.

I had a great boss once (the last of the REAL Generals, Dave Bice, who hired a bunch of contractors for the base because "Marines didn't become Marines to cut grass." We had the 0311's out there on weed eaters and lawn mowers. They hated it. Same for your son -- young men don't join the Marines to handle parade guests, put names on chairs and fold doilys. They join the Marines to become whatever they joined to be.
